bugs already?

not sure if this is actually a bug, as i haven't yet heard from anyone else playing dragonborn, but in the sidequest "the chief of thirsk hall" when i try to give the fresh meat to bilgemuck, it appears in my inventory normally, but not in the items available to gift to bilgemuck. is anyone else encountering this problem? — Unsigned comment by Sneak-archer (talkcontribs) at 15:19 on 4 December 2012

I have not yet done that quest but I have noticed a few bugs already. The four armor mannequins in my manor have not only lost the armor I placed on them but they have moved away from their original positions. It's kind of funny because they are moving together and a bit toward the bed....like they are stalking the PC. They worked for quite awhile but now no matter how many times I enter and exit I can not use them nor can I get my armor back.
(P.S. Love the name you chose...Sneak-archer. Never played a sneaky archer until this last character build and I am loving it.)
Have also noticed that many of the quests will not bring up the map and quest arrow from the quest log page even if it is in a specific location. Will try to keep track from now on and report. 71.236.176.225 02:05, 12 December 2012 (GMT)
Edit: They have finally reappeared after a few days and several saves....totally unsure what caused the disappearance or reappearance. When they did come back the armor I had placed on them did not show but was still in their inventory. — Unsigned comment by 71.236.176.225 (talk) at 12:49 on 15 December 2012
I haven't noticed any mannequins moving but all of my smithing gear disappeared from my bedside table after I returned it.A few days later it reappeared just as I was about to enchant some replacements.62.49.53.177 08:49, 11 February 2013 (GMT)

Discerning the Transmundane

Is they're any new aspects of Herma-Mora's quest in Skyrim before or after playing Dragonborn? Does he mention that you became his champion or anything like that? Any new tweaks to this quest? — Unsigned comment by Winch1990 (talkcontribs) at 03:23 on 5 December 2012‎

Yup Mora recognize you if you became his champion. — Unsigned comment by 74.45.42.233 (talk) at 07:14 on 5 December 2012‎
He says that the Oghma Infinium was just the beginning
--SRX2 (talk) 23:07, 6 December 2012 (GMT)
The purple portal thing he appeared as pre-Dragonborn is replaced with his Lovecraftian tentacle appearance as well. 64.138.235.149 13:49, 16 December 2012 (GMT)

Giant Nirnroots

So, I have no idea where this goes, but unmarked on the map, the island in the northeast edge of Solstheim, there are Burning Spriggans guarding giant nirnroot (they are as tall as a person) No idea where that would go. Harvesting them gives you 3 nirnroot each. There are 6 giants plus 2 normal sized ones. Also (and unrelated) an east empire strong box. Jeancey (talk) 00:58, 9 December 2012 (GMT)

Probably belongs on a Dragonborn:Unmarked Places page. —Legoless (talk) 01:08, 9 December 2012 (GMT)
Hmm, the island to the south has Rieklings (and another east empire company strong box). There is another island with horkers on it, but a dragon attacked, I tried to ride it for achievement progress, and get off, but it bugged out and dropped me from a large height and I died :P I'll look back at the island when it loads to see what else is there. Jeancey (talk) 01:10, 9 December 2012 (GMT)
Small update, turns out the dragon is actually specifically located on the island (it starts on the ground, which doesn't happen with a random attack). So that's 3 unmarked places for the list :P Jeancey (talk) 01:14, 9 December 2012 (GMT)
So I went to this place and I have noticed something. If you have the Greenthumb perk you will only get 2 samples of Nirnroot from a Giant Nirnroot instead of 3 that I'm reading here. I'm unsure of why this is. --67.185.108.121 02:51, 12 December 2012 (GMT)

Bug/Exploit for Secret of Arcana

I wasn't sure where to put this as Secret of Arcana doesn't have a page yet and the powers page doesn't have a talk page, when using the Secret of Arcana power with a continuous cast spell you will be able to cast indefinitely. The only spell I've tested this with was Detect Life. It seems that when the buff dies it doesn't seem to tell the game that the buff is over and to go back to using magicka. 66.168.87.167 19:57, 9 December 2012 (GMT)Safyre

My guess is that it checks for the cost at the beginning of the cast, and doesn't check again unless you stop and re-cast. That provides a powerful option to level up some casting skills.RandomTarget (talk) 15:17, 11 December 2012 (GMT)

Constant "Blue Blankness" Upon entering Solstein buildings

I'm unsure why but I keep going into buildings in Raven Rock and I'm getting this blank blue screen which you can sort of fall through. Some items load up around it or on it but overall it's just there. I even got it in the Raven Rock house you get following a quest so I'm going to be safe and not store anything there. The only way I can fix it so far is to save and reload, sometimes shutting off my xbox. I know it's not my xbox as it's brand new and doesn't have this issue with other games or even Skyrim. There is also the fact this Ashen Waistland causes these lag spikes as well. --67.185.108.121 02:25, 12 December 2012 (GMT)

Hey, try downloading Dragonborn again. Your download could have missed a few meshes and textures. Foacir (talk)Foacir (talk) 12:31, 4 January 2013 (GMT)
Actually I believe its a glitch, like the invisible water glitch. I've had it rarely as well, sometimes it happens like this but most of the time it works normally.--Dro'Bakha (talk) 08:11, 6 January 2013 (GMT)
It SHOULD just be an occasional glitch for the blue screen. I've had that happen several times in various locations even before downloading Dragonborn. Having said that - I would suspect that if it happens three times in a row in the same building or location and isn't immediately fixed by a save / reload, that you need to re-download things.Agmen (talk) 02:53, 9 January 2013 (GMT)
Like Dro and Agmen said, this sort of physics glitch isn't unique to Dragonborn and shouldn't be constant or common. I had it a few times in a row in Benkongerike (or however it's spelled...) but returning to the regular game menu (rather than just reloading a previous save from within the game) fixed it for me and it hasn't happened again. — ABCface 07:05, 9 January 2013 (GMT)

alternate 100% spell absorption

atronach stone + 3/3 spell absorption perk + Miraak's armor (minus his hood) will give you 100% spell absorption without having to be a vampire — Unsigned comment by ‎66.87.2.30 (talk) at 00:01 on 14 December 2012

Dragonborn adds Raven Rock as possible target for Thieves' Guild Jobs?

I've just been doing some of the jobs for the Thieves' Guild and Delvin has given me a Bedlam Job for Raven Rock. Has anyone else had this and does this mean that Raven Rock goes through the same process as Solitude etc. where you eventually control it? Theglasssword (talk) 15:07, 15 December 2012 (GMT)

That radiant quest looks for the LocTypeCity Keyword, Raven Rock has that set. Most of the other radiant Thieves Guild quests should be able to send you to Raven Rock too. --Alfwyn (talk) 15:16, 15 December 2012 (GMT)
Ok, I think that Raven Rock might be a bit faulty as well, as I have stolen at least 1500 gold worth of goods from Morvayn Manor, when I was only required to steal 500 and the quest has not yet updated. Theglasssword (talk) 15:20, 15 December 2012 (GMT)
Seems like quite a serious bug. The other Thieves Guild radiant quests need testing. —Legoless (talk) 16:11, 15 December 2012 (GMT)
Something like this happened for me as well. I got the Dawnguard quest A New Order and Gunmar was on Solsthiem at Horker Island. --24.92.180.9 18:36, 24 December 2012 (GMT)
A New Order looks for the keyword "LocTypeAnimalDen" and makes sure it has an outside entrance marker. Both of these apply to Horker Island. The A New Order quest page will be update with other possible targets once game data for Dragonborn is more readily available. — ABCface 00:09, 25 December 2012 (GMT)

() It looks like the Bedlam Job and the Fishing Job are the only two Thieves Guild radiant quests which can send you to Solstheim. I'll make a short note on the respective pages. As for the bug, it should be added to the relevant quest page. — ABCface 07:05, 9 January 2013 (GMT)

good starting level

about what level should i be when i start dragonborn to get the best leveled rewards for everthing Tlrd (talk) 01:02, 28 December 2012 (GMT)

For most quests which have leveled reward information documented already, the best reward is given at or above level 60. — ABCface 01:10, 28 December 2012 (GMT)

Different Pages

Just a quick question, why do we have entirely new pages for all the dragonborn stuff? I was just editing the Easter Eggs Page and I thought the Dragonborn easter eggs would make a nice addition. This was the same case with me with the achievements page and dragon page. Just a quick question. - The Chez Cake Talk to the Cheese 03:07, 9 January 2013 (GMT)

There was a long discussion on the Community Portal about adding a new namespace for Dragonborn here. For certain subjects, Dragonborn has redirects to the relevant Skyrim articles, but for subjects which are more specific to Dragonborn, they deserve new pages. Some of the new pages that were created were done so to follow the precedence of the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion, and how it was done for that situation. If there's a particular page that a user thinks should be merged with an existing article, they can add a {{Merge}} tag to the page, and editors can discuss whether or not a new page is needed (Skyrim:Achievements#Dragonborn is one page that may be merged, given the tag and related discussion). However, you shouldn't request a merge just because there is a similar page in the Skyrim namespace. Make sure to consider the content of the different pages and how they're used and what information is more relevant to each specific subject (this is a lot easier when you've actually played the expansion, since there are some things you can only figure out through gameplay). Hopefully this answer makes sense and isn't confusing. — ABCface 03:42, 9 January 2013 (GMT)
On the same topic, an anon made an edit to the WI page which was then reverted with the explanation that it belongs on the Dragonborn page. I can't find a WI page for Dragonborn. Was this discussed somewhere and I'm just wiki-challenged? --Xyzzy Talk 02:13, 10 January 2013 (GMT)
I saw that myself and wondered about it. I'm not sure how many new world encounters there are with Dragonborn; the only one I've experienced myself actually has a quest page (Black Book). I've seen a few reported, but I'm not sure if it's enough to warrant their own page. For now, I think leaving it on the SR page is appropriate, and adding a link to the related NPC page if it hasn't been done already. — ABCface 03:16, 10 January 2013 (GMT)

PC Release Date 5 Feb

...per Bethblog. And PS will get all three "in February," although no specific date. RUSTY (talk) 17:41, 18 January 2013 (GMT)

Thanks for the info! We have launched the news on the Main Page and will update some other related pages accordingly soon! — ABCface 17:42, 18 January 2013 (GMT)
