Bloodmoon talk:The Siege of the Skaal Village

Bug?Edit

Is there a bug in this quest? I have gotten up to the point where it should give me it (finished the one before it and was told to come to Skaal to talk to the guy), but when i do talk to him he just sais Good Job and will talk to me later.. Am I missing something, or is there actually something wrong with the quest? 97.115.7.151 18:26, 24 July 2008 (EDT)

You need to cure yourself of lycanthropy before you can continue. As the article says, "Until you are cured, you are banned from the village in order to prevent others from being infected." –RpehTCE 01:07, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
I haven't gotten lycanthropy yet. I'm stuck between the end of the last quest, but before the one where the Werewolves attack starts. Thats the problem :( 97.115.7.151 03:27, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
I'm not sure what you mean by "the last quest". You mean after the Draugr Lord? If so, just go into the Greathall. That kicks off the next part - as already explained on the page. If that's not the problem, you need to be clearer about the point you have reached. –RpehTCE 03:33, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
Ok, i just finished 'The Skaal Test of Strength' quest, and my last entry into the Journal is ' have returned to Wind-Eye and told him what transpired in the ice caves below Lake Fjalding. He suggests I return to the Skaal village, and he will meet me there later.'. But when I go to talk to Tharsten, he just sais something like "I see you have returned from the lake", but My only choice in the discussion menu is to select "Goodbye", and can not talk to him about anything else. And that is where I am stuck at; it will not go any further, and I am unable to get the next quest to trigger. So I'm unsure if it is an actual bug, if I am missing something that I need to do still, or because of something done in other parts of the game, this quest won't start. 97.115.7.151 04:06, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
Have you tried walking out of the greathall? –RpehTCE 04:44, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
Multiple times, including scraping all around it, running all around the town, and talking to everyone in it.97.115.7.151 04:56, 25 July 2008 (EDT)
I have the same Problem too, what should i do, i can`t load a previous game before the aeslip's quest. i'm playing the game in Xbox. help me!!!!! -- 190.158.171.158 16:02, 20 December 2008
You must use PlaceAtPC "korst wind-eye" 1 128 1 when in the village center (before the greathall is the best). Then you must talk to him (normally he should be standing there, but this command will do the fix)

Becoming a werewolf after becoming a blodskaalEdit

Is there any way to do the werewolf quests after taking the cure disease potion? I wanted to do both the Skaal quests and the werewolf quests, but I saved the game after taking the potion. Now I have done the whole skaal main quest. In addition to the Nord that I used to play the Skaal quests I don't have any high level characters, so playing the main quest again with a different character would be very hard. — Unsigned comment by 85.156.216.230 (talk) on 9 January 2009

Nope. You have to choose one way or the other to complete the quests - just like the EEC quests. I'm afraid you'll have to get one of your other characters to a higher level. –RpehTCE 07:24, 10 January 2009 (EST)

Starting "this"Edit

76.17.55.248 added the following line:

  • Warnig, this can only be started if ALL the honor gaurds must be alive.

...which SerCenKing edited to:

  • You can only chose this second option, however, if all of the honour gaurds are alive.

I'm not sure that the second version is an accurate translation of the first, and I'm not sure the first is true at all. I can't see anything in the scripts that stops things happening if a guard is dead. For the moment I've taken this off. –RpehTCE 04:46, 19 February 2009 (EST)

Easily missing this questEdit

The quest is triggered in a rather unfortunate way - you actually need to approach the door for the quest to be triggered. However, I never used the door, I always teleported away so I was completely confused and didn't know what to do. I was told to go to the leader of the Skaal village, so I went there, but the chief just said, "we can talk later." So I teleported away, back to the imperial shrine in Soltsheim, looked at my journal entries, nada, nothing there. Was confused and had to look up on the internet. It would have been better to trigger the quest through the chieftain of the Skaal village as soon as you speak to him than through a guard

Yes, after you talked with Tharsten Heart-Fang and been told that "we can talk later" you should start hearing sounds of battle and Werewolves, coming from outside. Then you're supposed to walk to the door to exit the building, not teleport away. Going to the door will trigger the guard to tell you that Werewolves attacked the village and they need your help. If you teleported away before, you never received that journal entry. --Giant Lizard (talk) 10:32, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Werewolf or human?!Edit

I'm trying to decide between staying a werewolf for the next series of quests or reverting to be human. What are the main advantages and drawbacks of each? I'm not so worried about difficulty but more so about missing out on rare/most useful items.

any help? Bluemu 09:30, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

In my playing experience I always found being a werewolf was useful on Solstheim, but as soon as you went back to Vvardenfell it was much more of a hinderence. Perhaps the most annoying thing is having to wait for hours to pick up loot you don't think you'll remember from a remote cave or simply to enter a town. It's also very possible to ruin the game by getting too close to a town in werewolf form, or misjugding the amount of time you had left before you tranformed. Turning into a werewolf in front of Master Ayron during the final quests of House Telvanni with a save way back in time is not a good feeling. If I were you I'd stick to human form, but becoming a werewolf will probably be more fun, if only in the short term. -Itachi 09:36, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Werewolf questionEdit

Do you get infected even if you are inmune to disease after the main quest? — Unsigned comment by Sayonara (talkcontribs) on 14 February 2010

Yes. There's nothing you can do to stop yourself being infected. rpeh •TCE 17:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

More InfoEdit

I strongly feel that this page could use some more info on the huge choice you have to make here regarding whether to finish the Main Quest as a human or a werewolf. I had no idea that becoming a werewolf triggered a split in the story line, one that can't be undone (you can't cure your lycanthropy once you have been given your first task by Hircine, which happens the very next time you transform) You could probably get the cure during that one day you turn back to normal but before the night comes and your transform again (thus activating Hircine's task). Having the wolfsbane petals and ripened belladonna berries beforehand could really speed things up. You could also probably wait until after the first Hircine task was completed and then try to get your cure, however this would probably end up bad (you can't very well stop the Skaal from getting the totem thingy they needed and then expect to go back and be able to finish out that way) So anyways, this needs to be addressed further. Yes, you're probably right. Please could you do a sandbox with a page redesign proposal? I think this would be the best place to show the options, but if you think it would be better to create a separate page and link to it from here, feel free to do that. If you want more people to take a look, post on the Community Portal. rpeh •TCE 22:20, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
I decided to just go ahead and edit the page. It wasn't really all that much information to warrant a whole new page. If someone feels my editing wasn't up to par they can change it, I suppose =P After all, I could very easily still be missing some vital piece of information. This is my first play through of Bloodmoon so I still have some learning to do =P Jihiro 01:04, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
I think it would be nice to have a table like the one we have for the quest Making a Choice, with "Being a Werewolf" and "Being a human".--Giant Lizard (talk) 10:38, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
